"Weir Wood Wind" is a specialised weather app designed for water-based wind-sport enthusiasts, targeted specifically at Weir Wood Reservoir, Bough Beech Reservoir and Shoreham Beach. This app provides location-specific data with as near real-time anemometer readings as the sites allow, for wind speed, gusts, and direction, together with live video feeds, where they are available.

The app shows graphical wind trends for the day (from midnight to the current time) and has live streaming webcam views from both Weir Wood Reservoir and Shoreham Beach.

In addition to wind information, the app shows the tide times at Shoreham Beach and also a summary forecast to enable the user to see what weather may be coming towards Weir Wood or Bough Beech.

It is also possible to see historic wind speed and gusts since midnight on the current day, allowing you to see what the wind was like when you were actually out on the water.

Within the app you can set preferred wind units and a range of wind-speeds to indicate how good the wind conditions are specifically for you. These are reflected by a range of "smilies" on the main app summary screen so you can get a quick view of how good the conditions are (or aren't) to go out in, before drilling down into the graphs and interactive displays for additional details on the conditions.
