The constitution is the supreme law of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is from this fundamental law that all laws draw their substance. No law can be contrary to the Constitution, and therefore cannot oppose it or reduce its scope. This document defines the type of society organized in the country, the symbols that distinguish the country from other countries, such as the flag, the national anthem, the motto or the national currency, the form of the State (federal or unitary) , the political regime, the voting method at the national and provincial level, and the responsibility and functioning of justice and institutions.
