The Children's Hospital Foundation, the Maternity House Foundation and the Latvian Midwives Association are implementing a large-scale project to improve the support system for underage pregnant women in Latvia.
Caring for underage pregnant women is caring for two children who are very vulnerable and whose future directly depends on the help that will be provided both during pregnancy and after the birth of the baby. Professionals from different fields take care of minor girls who have chosen to become mothers, but by working together, they will help the girls feel safer and more stable and receive the necessary support in time.
Within the framework of the project, cooperation between the state, local government and non-governmental organizations is promoted, extensive information measures for various groups of society about the problem and its solutions are also implemented, and various modern educational and supportive information tools and materials are developed for underage pregnant women and young people in general, with the aim of educating about reproductive and sexual health.
The project is financed by the Society Integration Fund from the funds allocated by the European Union - NextGenerationEU. The Children's Hospital Foundation is responsible for the content of the prepared materials.
