Umbanda is a Brazilian religion that emerged in Rio de Janeiro, on November 15, 1908, Zélio Fernandino de Moraes incorporated Caboclo das Sete Encruzilhada, spiritual guide who guided the creation of Umbanda.
Umbanda is based on African orixás, but incorporating elements of Kardecism, Catholicism and pajelança.
On November 8, 2016, after studies by the Rio Heritage of Humanity Institute (IRPH), Umbanda was included in the list of intangible heritage.
