Tongits is a rummy-style card game for three players, renowned in the Philippines. Originating from Pangasinan in the mid-1980s, it was initially called "Tung-it." Its name and rules hint at its ties to the American card game, Tonk, but it also bears similarities to Mahjong and Poker.
The game's goal is to form sets and runs by drawing and discarding cards, aiming to reduce the number of unmatched cards in one's hand. It's not just about card matching, though.
