The completely Italian App to enter your observations and share them with other birdwatchers and EBN Italia members: Ubird is the new archive at the service of birdwatching.
Ubird has been operational since 1 January 2018, designed to give the birdwatcher the central role with a user profile focused on the number of species observed (according to the Italian check list), number of data entered at national level and at the level of individual provinces and relative ranking .
To facilitate insertion, over 450 Hotspots are indicated on the map, particularly important sites, most of which have already been reported in the book "Birdwatching in Italy-Muzzio Ed". For each of these hotspots, a checklist is available obtained through the data of the users themselves (members only). Seawatching Hotspots have also been added to observe sea birds.
In Ubird there is no data that is obscured or made unavailable because the observer does not want to reveal it, every registered user can enter their own data by georeferencing them. It is possible to insert a documentary photo and audio file to confirm the observation, if necessary, directly from a mobile phone.
The data of 15 species, rare or sensitive to human disturbance, are hidden for protectionist reasons: Lanner Owl, Bonelli's Eagle, Egyptian Vulture, Eagle Owl, Ural Owl, Pygmy Owl, Grouse Owl, Black Stork, Rock Partridge, Capercaillie, Rock Ptarmigan , Black Grouse, Black Grouse, Little Bustard, Corncrake. To these we added observations of Short-eared Owls for the winter period and those of European Rollers for the reproductive period.
