Hardcore Hammers began as a lot of companies do, with an idea to improve the way something is done. Rick and Steve Spencer, the brothers behind Hardcore Hammers, are carpenters by trade. They wanted to find a way to improve framing hammers to make the waffle last longer. By recessing the waffle face just a bit below the outer rim, the waffle would last longer by only coming into contact with the nail and not the surface the nail was being driven into. Their patented recessed waffle created the best hammer either of them had ever used.

Since the company began in 2010, Hardcore Hammers has expanded into other premium hand tools including hatchets and axes.
