The application “Thromboprophylaxis in Childbirth and Puerperium” proposes an evaluation that collaborates in determining the need for the indication of thromboprophylaxis at the time of delivery and during the postpartum period. It takes into account the presence of determining risk factors (which are the usual ones such as a personal history of venous thrombosis, thrombophilia, the need for an emergency caesarean section, among others) and in its absence investigates the major and minor non-determining risk factors to finally establish the need for thromboprophylaxis for both vaginal delivery and scheduled caesarean section. It is an application developed by the Elea Phoenix Laboratory for the exclusive use of health professionals and is based on a consensus presented at SOGIBA.
