The Conference of Religious Women India (CRWI) is a national body that unites women’s religious congregations across India to serve the Church and society through collaboration, formation, and advocacy. Formally erected by the Holy See in 1963 and later registered as a Trust in 1981, CRWI prioritizes the mission of the Church over individual congregational interests and fosters coordination among congregations nationwide.

CRWI strengthens women religious through formation and capacity-building, notably via the Institute Mater Dei (established in 1964) for theological and leadership development tailored to women religious. It also leads initiatives such as the Centre for Innovations and Initiatives for Religious India (CIIRI), the Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC), and the Centre for Research on Religious Life India (CRRI), expanding support, resources, and research for ministries across the country.
