Pawned! is an app that you can use to ensure your password has not already been hacked.

Instantly check if the password you are using is safe. At least 306 million hacked passwords have been released by a data expert on the internet. If your password is among the list then all bets are off, it is being used to log onto your account right now and the best thing for you would be to change it immediately.

The password being searched for is protected by an implementation of a k-Anonymity model that allows a password to be searched for by partial hash. Only the first 5 characters of a SHA-1 password hash are passed to the API. In addition, a secure version of the Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol is being used, known as Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS).
