Based on the algorithm developed in the context of GreenDriedFruits, a Sensor-App system prototype is developed. The latter is based on the use of temperature sensors and can be used in all devices. This App is designed to allow farmers and processors to automatically set the TT parameters after loading their facility data (size, type of commodity, type of storage and quantity per pallet/tray, etc.). Furthermore, thanks to wireless sensor networks in the storage facilities the App is able to record and store the facility-specific parameters (such as the relative humidity). Thanks to all these data, the algorithm of the App provides all adjusted parameters (exposure time and temperature) to successfully apply the TT in all storage conditions. The GreenDriedFruitApp operates adequately and independently regardless of the structures and the conditions prevailing, providing the inferences that are essential for “area-wide management”. It also allows to record all TT data that can be stored and utilized for commercial purposes, such as proof of treatment in export of dried fruits, phytosanitary inspections, and treatment archive per application scenario (target species, target commodity, type of storage etc.). Thanks to the sensor network, the App also provides real time data for temperature, relative humidity and provide predictions, issue alerts, and evaluate the treatment duration and success in real time.
