The Book of Psalms is the text of the Old Testament most commonly used in the cult of the Orthodox Church. Psalms calm the soul, gather the thoughts, scatter the fear and disorder.

Although it is not a mandatory condition, it is good to ask for the blessing of the spiritual father to read Psalter in private at home. The psaltery is divided into 20 chapters.
