Lifeflight Retrieval Medicine [LRM] uses a telephone App to help monitor and manage retrieval doctor and medical coordinator fatigue.

The LifeFlight Fatigue Score App provides individual retrieval doctors and medical coordinators with an assessed fatigue score at the start of every shift worked, and a forecast fatigue score for the duration of that shift.

This requires each retrieval doctor and medical coordinator to access the Fatigue App within the hour prior to or at the beginning of every rostered shift and enter the three (3) sleep/awake numbers required to enable calculation of the Shift Start Fatigue Score. Upon entry of these three numbers, and after pressing the “calculate” button, the shift start fatigue score and the fatigue score forecast are displayed on the Fatigue App home screen.
