Iowa Fire Flow is based on the Iowa State University Rate of Flow Formula developed by Keith Royer and Bill Nelson at the Fire Service Institute of Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa, USA referenced in "Water for Firefighting--Rate of Flow Formula", Iowa State University Bulletin #18, 1959.

Numerical units are selectable for English and Metric. English units are feet for length and width, and gallons per minute for flows. Metric units are meters for length and width, and liters per minute for flows. Note - User entered values will remain when switching between English and Metric. Example: 30 feet entered in English units will be interpreted as 30 meters when switched to Metric units.
Operational for light and dark themes, and portrait and landscape modes. Scrolling provided if needed.
