The "Fique Seguro Campinas" app displays the number of police reports, by street segment, in the city of Campinas, São Paulo, between January 2022 and June 2025. The app was developed by Fifth Level Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento em GIS, which has no ties to any government. The app was not developed by or on behalf of the São Paulo state government. However, it uses official data available on the transparency website of the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP SP) at https://www.ssp.sp.gov.br/estatistica/consultas. To develop the application, 13 files were downloaded from the SSP SP website at the above address on April 1, 2025, and four more files were downloaded from the same website on August 2, 2025. The files contain data from police reports (B.O.) filed throughout the state of São Paulo between January 1, 2022, and June 30, 2025. The B.O.s cover the following types of crimes: cell phone robberies and thefts, vehicle robberies and thefts, deaths due to police intervention (MDIP), and other crimes. The original records are public and available in Excel format. The content of the Excel files downloaded from the SSP SP website has not been modified. Any inaccuracies in the original data (locations, addresses, numbers, dates, and other attributes of the B.O.s) are the responsibility of the SSP SP. We add value to the original data by spatializing, synthesizing, and attributing it to Overture Maps streets, located within a maximum distance of five meters. The Overture Maps database, as well as individual contents of the same database, are made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The methodology described above is replicable. This means that when the same data and the same method are used, different people should arrive at the same results. Similarly, the frequency of police incidents per street, shown in the app, is verifiable based on the original data. The Fique Seguro Campinas app only shows streets with 10 or more police incidents. Crime data is updated in the app every three months. The app price refers to production costs and data traffic.
