Use Golf Tempro to practice your golf swing's tempo. The app will play audio cues indicating when to start your backswing, start your downswing, and hit the ball.
A golf swing tempo is the rhythmic relationship between the backswing and the downswing. It’s not just about how fast you swing — it’s about how the timing of your backswing compares to your downswing so that your motion stays balanced, repeatable, and efficient.
The tempo BPM can be set in the app. Beginners typically use a lower BPM (100) because their movements are more efficient, and the faster tempo helps generate power while maintaining rhythm.
The tempo ratio can be set to 4:1, 3:1, or 2:1. The swing tempo ratio compares the time spent on the backswing to the downswing. A 4:1 ratio is slower and more deliberate, useful for finesse shots like chips and pitches where control matters most. A 3:1 ratio is the classic full-swing rhythm used by most pros, balancing power and accuracy. A 2:1 ratio is much faster, sometimes seen in punch shots, knockdowns, or when hitting in windy conditions to keep the ball flight lower.
