About the Game
Phom (also known as Tá Lả) is a turn-based card game where players draw, discard, create melds, and try to minimise hand points before the round ends.

The game follows traditional Phom rules:
- Form melds: Sets (three of a kind) or Runs (three+ cards in sequence, same suit)
- Eat discards when they complete a valid meld
- Lay down melds when allowed
- Reduce deadwood to avoid high penalties
- Use safe discards and discard reading to prevent opponents from completing their melds.
- Finish the round with the lowest total points
Each decision—draw or take discard, lay meld or hold, discard safely or aggressively—shapes the entire flow of the round.

How to Play
- Each player begins with 9 cards
- Decide between drawing from the deck or taking a discard to complete a set, extend a sequence, or strengthen your meld structure.
- Form sets or runs to build your Phom
- When eligible, choose Expose Meld to reveal completed Phom
- Discard one card at the end of each turn
- When the deck reaches the final draw or a player goes “down”, the round ends
- Scores are calculated from remaining unmelded cards (deadwood)
