Robert Lewandowski (Polish pronunciation: ['robert levan'dofskʲi] ( listen); born 21 August 1988) is a Polish footballer who currently plays as a forward for La Liga club FC Barcelona and is the captain of the Poland national team.

Lewandowski made three appearances for Poland's under-21 team, in friendlies against England, Belarus and Finland. His debut for the senior national team came on 10 September 2008, three weeks after his 20th birthday, against San Marino where he came on as a substitute and scored one goal. Only Włodzimierz Lubański scored on his debut for the national team at a younger age than Lewandowski, at the age of 16 at the time.
