World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June and is the United Nations' principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

The day raises awareness about the environmental issues like global warming, marine pollution, human over-population, protection of wildlife, and sustainable consumption. It has spread so far and wide, that World Environment Day has become a global platform for countries to reach out to the public.

Since its beginning in 1974, World Environment Day has developed into a global platform for raising awareness and taking action on urgent issues from marine pollution and global warming to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime.

Every World Environment Day is hosted by a different country in which official celebrations take place.

People celebrate World Environment Day in many different ways all over the world: planting trees, cleaning up local beaches, organising meetings, joining online protests.

We believe that caring for nature, plants, and the land is integral to our own health and that individual responsibility lies with each of us. Whether it’s a healing walk through the woods, picking up litter while walking, or buying more environment friendly products, or reduce, reused and recycle and try to cut down what we throw.
