Originally a 44-acre farm owned by Walter C. Black, the Peddie Golf Course was established in 1923 by Black, his son-in-law C. Stanley Stults, and local businessmen. The land, formerly home to a nursery and Christmas tree farm, was sold to Peddie for $1 during the Great Depression, with the Black family retaining life rights.
The course expanded from 9 to 18 holes in 1952, preserving many unique tree species from the nursery. Over the years, improvements included expanded tees, a new clubhouse, and irrigation, supported by donations from the Stults family. Today, Peddie Golf Course remains an 80 year-old gem, offering narrow fairways, small greens, and strategic challenges that test both seasoned and casual golfers. Its unique par 72 layout, featuring five par 3s and five par 5s, ensures a dynamic and rewarding experience for all players.
