Quantum Chess
Four Minds. Seven Phases. One Survivor.
Welcome to Quantum Chess — a thrilling fusion of strategy, chaos, and inevitability. This isn't just chess; it's a battlefield where tradition collapses and evolution reigns. Designed for four players and unfolding across seven ruthless phases, Quantum Chess pushes every decision to the brink, ensuring only one emerges victorious.
Built on an expansive 12×12 board, the game introduces dynamic zones, evolving conditions, and calculated aggression. As the match progresses, the battlefield literally shrinks, forcing players into tighter corners and sharper decisions. Every few turns, the environment shifts, rules mutate, and opportunities vanish or explode into chaos.
? The Players
Quantum Chess is played by four players, each controlling a standard set of chess pieces with unique modifications for balance on the larger board. Cooperation is temporary. Alliances are fragile. Only one can win.
Each player starts in a corner of the board, with kings safely tucked away and pawns forming the first line of defense. But this isn’t classic chess—holding back ensures annihilation. From the first phase, aggression is not optional—it’s survival.
? The Seven Phases of Quantum Collapse
Initiation (Turns 1–5)
Standard movement with classic chess rules, but on a 12x12 grid. Pieces can explore, stake territory, and prepare for the coming storm. No captures allowed — this is the calm before the chaos.
Duel Mode (Turns 6–10)
Captures are now allowed—but only 1-on-1 engagements. No backups, no pins. You must challenge directly. If your piece attacks and loses, it's lost forever. Think fast, act bold.
Quantum Drift (Turns 11–15)
A ripple shakes the board. Every 3 turns, random tiles collapse, becoming unplayable voids. Affected pieces are instantly destroyed. The board begins to eat itself. Movement now must account for drift zones, which destabilize standard paths.
Promotion Protocol (Turns 16–20)
Pawns now auto-promote on reaching the 8th rank—but not always to queens. Promotions become randomized: knight, bishop, rook, or queen. Plan for unpredictability.
Shadow Phase (Turns 21–25)
Vision becomes limited. Each player can only see moves in their zone of control (within 4 squares of any piece). Moves outside your field are hidden until contact is made. Ambushes and misdirection dominate.
The Collapse (Turns 26–30)
The board tightens. Outer 2 ranks disappear, dragging any pieces with them. This forces all remaining players into a brutal close-quarters showdown. There is no escape.
Final Protocol: Sudden Death (Turns 31–End)
Any king captured ends that player’s game permanently. No stalemates. No draws. If 2 kings are captured in a single round, both are eliminated. The last remaining king wins the war.
⚙️ Key Mechanics
No Stalemates: Draws are not possible. In the rare case of simultaneous captures, both players are eliminated.
Quantum Tiles: Some board tiles behave unpredictably—changing color, blocking moves, or granting temporary power-ups.
Temporal Undo (once per game): Each player may reverse a move within 3 turns, but this action reveals all your positions for one round. Use wisely.
Energy Meter: Earned by successful captures or surviving collapsing zones. Energy can be spent on unique powers—teleportation, extra move, or vision reveal.
? Victory Conditions
The last king standing wins. Simple? Not quite. Victory demands adaptation, prediction, and aggression. Defensive play is punished. Inaction is eradicated. Quantum Chess is a game where thinking ahead isn’t optional—it’s your lifeline.
