A new technology, developed in WA, assists in the protection of Cultural Heritage Sites by providing real-time alerts, using advanced geofencing technologies, to anyone who is traveling near, or to, protected areas and sites. It's a simple app that maps areas of cultural significance and alerts a mining company's employees, and anyone else on the ground, if and when, someone gets too close to protected sites. The app can be downloaded to smartphones, tablets, and suitable smartwatches. Once installed, the App is instantly activated with all relevant maps and geofences including buffer and breach zones relevant to the user. The app works in both online and offline environments ensuring protection is always in place. "We're bringing Cultural Heritage Protection into the 21st century, so now we go from the field, we map it, the clients or the people in the field download it, end of, it's that simple."
