The tiger (scientific name: Panthera tigris; also known as the tiger, although it is more often used for animals from Panthera pardus and its subspecies) is an animal belonging to the phylum Chordata, subphylum vertebrates, class mammals, meat eaters (carnivores), family felidae (cats) , genus Panthera, and belongs to the species Tigris.
The tiger is the largest cat of its species, even bigger than the lion. Tigers and cats are the second fastest in running, after the cheetah. In overall carnivores, tigers are the largest carnivore and the third largest carnivore after polar bears and brown bears.
Tigers usually hunt for rather large prey such as sambar deer, deer, pigs, or deer. However, tigers will hunt small animals such as porcupines in the absence of larger prey. Although they come from the same family, tigers are different from ordinary small cats, tigers love to swim, and cats are basically afraid of water
