This magical state is called the hypnagogic and we often experience it for a few seconds on the way to sleep; vivid images, voices, etc.
Brink is designed to help learn how to hang out there. This special place is an interface between the conscious and subconscious mind. We are usually either consciously awake and unconsciously asleep and perhaps subconsciously dreaming, but in the between state of the hypnogogic, and sometimes in lucid dreams, we can be in both states. Or rather between both states, in the crossroads where some interesting things are possible
