We bring together seekers and helpers from the area to do shopping safely and easily.
Our vision:
We want to establish a neighborhood support platform on which people in their area can exchange support, knowledge and everyday items.
Our mission:
We want to bring people closer together, promote a common culture and thereby create a better social future.
The team:
We are a team of 12 motivated e-commerce experts from the fields of design, user research, development, marketing, project management, product development and sales. We all know each other from our full-time job and initiated the project on a voluntary basis at the #WirVsVirus Hackathon at the end of March 2020.
How does Helping Hands work?
In the current situation, it is very important to us to bring those looking for help together with volunteers - for this we developed a shopping list platform as a first step. The main advantage of our platform is that helpers and those seeking help can find each other quickly and free of charge in the same area, even though they do not know each other personally. Those looking for help can use the app (or the web) to create a shopping list with the items they need, while helpers nearby can get the shopping list near them by push message and then take care of them.
The added value:
We want to enable people in high-risk groups not to expose themselves to the risk of infection and still keep their purchases. Furthermore, helpers can relieve people who are not in the risk group, but who have little time or only limited access to shopping. The smile and good feeling of people who help or who have been helped can also be encouraged. In addition, new contacts and friendships can develop.
