Promotion Robot is intended to meet a need for unusual and interesting promotion of businesses. Using the robot's speakers, friendly HRI, and a QR code displayed on a tablet, we will offer coupons to passing customers to encourage their patronage of the businesses we’re promoting.

The intended operating environment is malls. The building owners will use the robot as a promotion tool for the mall itself, as well as offering robotic promotion as a service to the businesses which take space within the mall. The malls will be very busy during opening hours. There will be lots of noise and people.

We will use the QR code system primarily as a way of providing solid data to our customers on the number of people interacting with our promotion. Without this, we wouldn’t be able to easily register how many people have taken a coupon.
