Body mass index (BMI) was created in 1869 by Adolphe Quetelet, a Belgian mathematician, sociologist, pioneer of scientific statistics.

The BMI value allows you to assess the degree of correspondence between a person's mass and his height. The resulting digital value shows whether your weight is within the normal range or there are deviations in one direction or another.
