Tired of working for hours only to have accomplished little to nothing? I've been in the same boat and the only way I broke out of my unproductivity was by employing a series of work "sprints" accompanied by short breaks. Flowcus is a customizable and new approach to the successful Pomodoro technique.
The app allows you to customize how much time you would like to allocate towards your sprints and how much time you would like to allocate towards your breaks. The timer will alert you via vibration and your ringtone (if not in vibrate/silent mode) when you need to proceed to the next stage.
There are 4 stages that you will loop through until you have accomplished your goal.
Sprint #1: I recommend around 20-30 minutes of which you free yourself of all distractions and work solely on the task at hand.
Break #1: Should be a short break around 5-10 minutes in which you should consider stretching and walking around
Sprint #2: Should be the same length as Sprint #1, but if your stamina is shorter, consider making it 5-10 minutes shorter than Sprint #1.
Break #2: Your second break should be longer than your first break. Consider going for a short run, a quick workout, or socialize with someone nearby.
I have put in the values that worked best for me as the default for the app. If you need to restore defaults, please hit the settings button and leave the text fields blank and click save.
Now download the app, set your timer, put your phone away, and work!
