The application presents the voltage of lead-acid batteries made using AGM and GEL technology, lithium-iron-phosphate LiFePO4, nickel-cadmium Ni-Cd, nickel-metal hydride Ni-MH batteries connected to a balancer that is used to maintain the same voltage level batteries connected in series. Thanks to this, individual batteries in the system are protected against overcharging, which may lead to excessive gassing, as well as against uneven discharge, which may lead to sulfation, which in both cases may result in permanent damage to the batteries.

When two or more batteries are connected in series, the voltage of each battery may be different. After connecting to the battery, the Balancer starts automatically and is active all the time. The battery balancer will equalize/balance the battery voltage when it detects that there is a voltage difference greater than 10 mV between the two batteries, resulting in a transfer of energy from the higher voltage battery to the lower voltage battery. This happens both during the charging and discharging process of the battery. One Balancer is designed for a set of four batteries.
