However, Ripple soon ran into legal trouble with US regulatory authorities for not complying with the Bank Secrecy Act, and was subsequently labeled an unregistered security. This lawsuit remains unresolved until early 2022. What's more, the company has been accused of misleading advertising in the early stages of its existence.
