Surah Al Ankabut (Chapter 29 in the Quran) is named after the Arabic word for “spider,” which is used as a metaphor for the fragility of human life and the fleeting nature of this world. The surah is composed of 69 verses and is considered to be a Makkan surah, meaning it was revealed in the early days of Prophet Muhammad’s prophethood in Mecca before the migration to Medina.
