It has only three verses and is named after the river of abundance that Allah has granted to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Paradise. Surah Kausar has many benefits and rewards for those who recite it and act upon its teachings. Some of the benefits are:
- It grants forgiveness of sins and rewards in the hereafter. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever recites Qul huwa Allaahu ahad ten times, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."
- It protects from the evil of the enemies and increases the wealth and blessings of the reciter. According to various narrations, whoever recites Surah Kausar on Friday, in the morning or evening, or before sleeping, will be protected from enemies, poverty, insanity, and sudden calamity. He will also have his sustenance increased by Allah and will be raised in the company of the prophets on the Day of Judgment.
- It increases the knowledge and faith of the reciter in Allah. Surah Kausar is a reminder of the oneness of Allah, and it emphasizes His attributes of knowledge, power, and majesty. Reciting these verses can help to increase the reciter's knowledge of Allah, and to strengthen their faith.
