The history of Bengali dynasty is not very ancient. As a result of the feudal social system in the Middle Ages, it is believed that the status of Bengalis developed later in the British period in parallel with the permanent settlement. Most people have a tail at the end of their name. Such titles, surnames or genealogical names are commonly called surnames. Some titles of Bengalis related to land-deposit issues such as Haldar, Majumdar, Talukdar, Poddar, Sardar, Pramanik, Hazra, Hazari, Mandal, Moral, Mallik, Sarkar, Biswas etc. are the exclusive forms of all communities irrespective of Hindu-Muslim. The titles of Bengali Muslim teachers are Khandaker, Akand, Niazi etc. And the teacher titles of Bengali Hindus are Dwivedi, Trivedi, Chartuvedi etc.
