"Bread, salt and heart!" This is the expression that the Albanians use to welcome friends who arrive unexpectedly at mealtime. The pleasure of receiving, of offering a warm welcome to one's guest, remains the credo of Albanian hospitality.

At least the form is respected... Welcoming the friend with dignity, by proposing a feast on the table, is a matter of honor. Remember that quantity is almost as important as quality.
