Our project is called Foamsurfing and it has two main features. The first is to provide users of our app and website with a beach guide that informs them of everything they need in detail: the location of rocks, currents, how tides affect the waves, or the businesses you can find on the beach. In other words, it offers a comprehensive view of the beach so that users have all the necessary information in one platform. Foamsurfing is what any surfer unfamiliar with the area needs: useful, verified, and immediate information.
The second feature is an enhanced wave forecast, which includes both the "conventional" weather forecast for wind, wave size, or period, along with a personalized forecast for each beach. In this way, Foamsurfing aims to change the conception of wave forecasts by focusing on the shortcomings of current platforms. How many of us have gone on a trip and tried to practice the sport we love but couldn't find the right conditions? Which peak to go to? At what tide? And with today's wind? Foamsurfing is that local friend who advises us where to go. And it gets it right. If a beach doesn't work at high tide, it warns us. If today's weather conditions are good, it warns us as well. Additionally, thanks to various surveys, we have been able to identify the needs and concerns of surfers when checking a forecast.
