The motto of Jean Louis David's stylists: "Unleashing the plurality of identities and styles."
Because hairstyling isn't just about aesthetics. It's also a form of expression, an opportunity to reflect personality and mood through style. It's an invitation to break away from the daily routine with a contemporary cut with character.
This was precisely what the man behind the brand wanted to offer the world.
Jean-Louis David was born on March 24, 1934, in Paris, to a family of hairdressers originally from Grasse.
He rose to fame at the age of 20, after styling Kim Novak, an American star of the time.
At 25, he opened his first hair salon in Paris, on Avenue de Wagram. His original creations quickly took him to the top. From the very beginning, Jean-Louis David went from being a simple hairdresser to becoming a true stylist.
You're probably familiar with the fade or mesh technique? These are haircuts 100% created by Jean-Louis David.
But above all, Jean-Louis David was an artist, a visionary. A true pioneer with a vision beyond aesthetics. His mission was not just to style women's hair, but to contribute to their empowerment. He was deeply connected to the world and its changes, and understood that he had to adapt to new trends and generations to meet his clients' expectations.
Today, this vision continues in all our salons.
