CORE FEATURE: FILE MANAGEMENT & BROWSING

The primary purpose of LocalStream4K is to be a powerful, user-friendly file manager. Our app's core functionality is to allow you to browse and manage all your files, not just media.

This includes:

Non-Media Files: Access, open, and manage documents (PDFs, Office files), ZIP archives, and APKs.

All Folders: Browse your device's entire file system, including the Download folder.

External Storage: Access and manage files on connected USB drives and SD cards.

This file management is essential for all other features of the app. The MediaStore API is insufficient as it cannot see non-media files or browse these locations. This is why the app requires "All Files Access."

MEDIA SERVER (UPnP/DLNA) Once you've organized your files, use the built-in media server to stream them to any device on your network.

Stream videos, music, and photos to your Smart TV, console (PS/Xbox), or PC.

Full UPnP/DLNA compatibility.

REMOTE ADB CONTROLLER Manage your other Android devices (like an Android TV) directly from the app.

Connect over Wi-Fi with ADB.

Use a remote D-Pad, keyboard, and mouse.

Install APKs, reboot your device, and more.

BUILT-IN PLAYERS For convenience, the app includes built-in players to open the files you are managing.

Play local videos from your device or USB drive.

Listen to your music with a full-featured audio player.

A NOTE ON PERMISSIONS: "ALL FILES ACCESS"

This app's core, main, and primary functionality is File Management. The MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE ("All Files Access") permission is required for this core feature to work.

Without this permission, the app is "broken" and unusable because:

It cannot see non-media files (like PDFs, DOCs, ZIPs, APKs).

It cannot access the Download folder.

It cannot access external USB drives or SD cards.

The MediaStore API is not sufficient as it only provides access to media files in media folders, which breaks the app's core file management purpose. We have provided a video showing this functionality.
