Carla - THE donation market and THE employment project of Caritas. The name is made up of the words CARitas and LAden. These shops sell used and well-preserved items that were previously donated to Caritas by private individuals or companies. Everyone is very welcome at Carla. Carla uses 2,800 tons of donations in kind per year throughout Styria. 490,000 customers come to the 33 Carla shops every year. Carla receives donations in kind from 230,000 people every year. Behind Carla is a large employment project, which offers people furthest from the labor market the opportunity to (re) gain a foothold in the labor market. Carla works sustainably and makes a significant contribution to waste avoidance. Poor people or people at risk of poverty can shop for free at Carla using Carla basic vouchers. Carla is a regional partner throughout Styria and is setting an emphasis on revitalization with a conscious yes to shops in the city centers.
