“K-SEAL-EO” (Karnataka State Excise Adhesive Label- Excise Officers Authentication App) is an official smartphone application designed exclusively for Karnataka state Excise Department excise officials to scan the encrypted 2D barcode printed on the Karnataka Paper based Excise Adhesive Labels (EALs) and verify the authenticity of the QR code on the EALs.

Key Features:
o QR Code Scanning – Quickly scan Encrypted 2D barcode printed on excise adhesive labels.
o Instant Verification – Get scan results about the authenticity of the scanned QR code on the excise adhesive labels. The app also provides details such as GPS location of the scan, the scan time, scan date, etc.
o Office Location Management- Excise officials assigned to multiple office locations can select their location after login and switch between locations as required.
o Add Remarks- Capture additional information like location notes, truck details, or other relevant observations through a text input field or select options from dropdown menu.
o Image Capture & Upload- If the QR code is “unrecognized” or “unable to process”, users can upload photos of the bottle or tetra pack along with the EAL for further validation.
o History Module- Access details of previous scans in the app’s history section for reference.
o Training module- assist excise officials to identify the other security features present on the EAL.
o Offline Functionality- The app works seamlessly without requiring continuous internet connectivity.
o User-Friendly Interface – Simple and efficient interface designed for excise officials.

Data:
o All scan data is synced to the Central Monitoring System (CMS), which is hosted on Karnataka State Data Center (KSDC) servers.
o Data syncing happens automatically when the smartphone device is connected to the internet.
o User credentials for the K-SEAL-EO app are created and managed within the CMS application limiting access strictly to authorized personnel.

This app is an essential enforcement tool for excise authorities to protect government revenue, curb illegal liquor trade, and maintain supply chain integrity.
