Alocasia is a family of Araceae or tubers that live in wet tropical rain forests such as in the Kalimantan region. Unfortunately, people still find it difficult to distinguish Alocasia from caladium or taro. In fact, Alocasia and taro, have significant differences. In Caladium, the main tuber will produce shoots that will later become caladium saplings. As for Alocasia, saplings, or new shoots will grow apart from the main tuber.
