⚫ The Kerala government has launched a massive resurvey of land parcels across the State. The State government intends to complete this process within four years. The resurvey will be completed in four phases utilising state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology. With technology and public participation, the errors and anomalies in resurvey exercises would be minimised.
⚫ With the successful completion of the resurvey program using satellite technology, all land-related procedures will be moved online. This will ensure both transparency and efficiency in land records management.
⚫ The Kerala government has decided to revise the land tax in the recently presented state budget for 2022-23. It will introduce a new tax slab for Gram Panchayats, Municipalities and Corporations across Kerala.
⚫ E Rekha Kerala is an online data repository of the Kerala state Government. E Rekha Kerala enables users to seamlessly access land records information and cadastral details relating to the State Department of Survey and Land Records. The E Rekha website also allows for electronic payment methods to procure land records
⚫ Objectives of E Rekha Kerala
The E Rekha portal-Kerela land records- is a significant step in the direction of the digital delivery of complex land records. The citizens of Kerala can now access the Kerala land records, mutation certificates and other complex land records online. The E Rekha portal has the following objectives-
✓ 1. To ensure the digital accessibility of land survey documents and land records
✓ 2. Develop a robust web-based system for digital documentation and archiving of land records
✓ 3. The provision of online surveys and resurveys so that transparency and efficiency in land records management can be ensured
✓ 4. E Rekha Project under Kerala Land Information Mission aims to physically preserve and digitize the old land survey records held at the Thiruvananthapuram Office
⚫ How to Download Land Records on E Rekha Kerala
✓ You can follow the simple procedure if you want to download the maps.
✓ When the land record thumbnail is displayed on the screen, click the ‘Checkout’ button.
✓ If you have already registered, log in to the system. If you are not a registered user, sign up and log in.
✓ In the next step, verify the land record details. The land record fee is also displayed.
✓ Click on the ‘Continue’ button.
✓ The user must verify the details and keep a note of the transaction number for future reference.
✓ Click on the ‘Proceed to Pay’ button. The system will be redirected to the E-treasury webpage.
✓ Choose a payment method and pay the requisite fee using UPI/Debit card/Credit card/ IMPS/NEFT or Mobile Wallet.
✓ After the successful payment, click the download button and save the desired document.
