heart+land tells the story of a region through the lens of the plants that call it home. Learn about the history, cultural significance, and unique environmental connections of our central Minnesota landscape by exploring maps, plant profiles, and games alongside the interpretive trails at two regional parks.
Trails featured in the app include the Pond Loop at Robert Ney Regional Park (Wright County) and the Lower Prairie Loop at Two Inlets at Bde Hehaka - Omashkooz Zaaga’igaans Regional Park (Sherburne County).
Use it as a stand-alone app to access maps and plant profiles from anywhere, or alongside the trails to connect the knowledge to the landscape it describes. Interactive games (single park as well as cross-park) must be experienced in conjunction with the trail signage.
heart+land is a product of the Minnesota Parks Artist-in-Residence Program (MnPAIR), an initiative of the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission in partnership with Sherburne and Wright County Parks and Recreation Departments, with funding from the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment.
