The book of An Nashaih or Al Washaya which speaks to us about the life of Islam at its time, the turmoil of its soul and its Sufi methods and the knowledge that it received. He is so thirsty for knowledge, research, reading and comes to an opinion that does not hesitate.

Biography and position of Al Harits Al Muhasibi

We will discuss the Madrasah Bagdad sufiyah from the Sunnah experts, starting with the largest of them, Al Harits Al Muhasibi (died 243 AH) and ending with Ja'far Al Khaldi (died 348 AH). We can say that Islamic Sufism was at its peak during this period, beginning in the first half of the third century to the first half of the fourth century A.D.

Ibn Khafif said: “Follow the five great masters, while the other teachers leave their business to themselves. The five are Al Harits bin Asad Al Muhasibi, Al Junaid bin Muhammad, Abu Muhammad Ruwaim, Abu Abbas bin Atha 'and Amr bin Uthman Al Makki, because the five combine sharia and essence ".

Abu Abdullah Al Harits Al Muhasibi is one of the scholars who combines zuhud and inner and outer knowledge. He compiled many books about zuhud, about ushuludin, about opposing Mu'tazilah and against Rafidhah. Including his works are Ar Ri'ayah li Huquq Allah and At Tawahhum. As Subki stated that Al Muhasibi was a follower of the Shafi school. If the followers of Shafi are not experts in jurisprudence, monotheism, jurisprudence, qiyas, zuhud, wirai and ma'rifat other than Al Muhasibi, then it is sufficient to be defender of Shafi.

In Al Ihya 'Al Ghazali it is stated that Al Muhasibi is the best people of Muhammad in terms of mu'amalah knowledge. He is a pioneer in researchers the disgrace of passion and the calamities of deeds. He is called Al Muhasibi because he has a lot of judgment (taking into account) himself.
