In 1955, D. Anna Khoury once again stood out in the Brazilian scenario, when she made Brazil enter the era of FM (Frequency Modulated) by founding Rádio Imprensa, still encouraging the FM receiver industry, which at that time did not exist in the country. In the 50s, the FM wave was only used to connect the studio to the radio transmitters, as if it were a private telephone line.

Due to political injunctions at the time, D. Anna had been stripped of her AM channels (Rádio Eldorado) in favor of politically influential journalistic groups.

For this reason, he decided to start FM broadcasts, which until then did not exist as broadcasting. Rádio Imprensa FM also came up with the first transmitter built in Brazil, due to import difficulties. And the station itself, under the command of its President, had to start the first FM radio receiver industry. The advertising market for radio was strong but for FM it was almost non-existent as there were no listeners. That's where ambient music on FM was born.

Manufactured receivers were leased to customers who listened to music in the workplace. The idea was well accepted by the market and, until 1976, the transmission of Rádio Imprensa, the only FM station, was exclusively musical, without any voiceover. With the boom of FMs, other stations began to emerge, 20 years after the inauguration of Rádio Imprensa FM.

Rádio Imprensa, once again a pioneer, began to broadcast on the same wave with 2 channels, one for free reception by the public, and another encoded intended only for customers subscribing to ambient music.
