Walking from the Saxon Tower to the Saillon dungeon, discover in the heart of the Middle Ages, the tragic love story between Anselm de Saxon and Guigone de Saillon. A free application called “Via Guigonae et Anselmi” guides you along the 9.5 km route and presents the story of the two lovers through 23 captivating videos. These films, in the form of a cartoon, bring to life an exceptional work, a 16 meter long embroidery which traces this entire story, thread by thread.
At the end of your walk, you will be able to admire this work, created by more than 250 volunteers at the Saillon Counterfeit Money Museum. 4,500 hours of work were required to bring this masterpiece to life, produced on sumptuous linen canvas with wool threads in rich, evocative tones.
