To help you keep track of your fast, the app records when you started your fast, how long you have fasted and how long you have left if you have set a goal.
All completed fasts will be saved and can be accessed to help you get insight into your fasting habits and achievements.
Setting a goal is optional so if you wish to fast and let your body or mind tell you when to stop, your welcome to do so.
If you have a long term goal in mind, and would like to set yourself a challenge, as a way to stay motivated and accountable, the new challenge feature is for you. You can set a custom challenge where you control how many times you want to fast within a given period, and for how long. An example could be 5 fasts of 16 hours or more within 7 days.
If you are looking to do a more structured fast, setting a goal can be a helpful option.
The goal can be set as a duration from the start of the fast or a specific time in the future.
This allows you to do popular IF (intermittent fasting) fasting/eating windows like
16:8, 18:6 or 20:4.
The goal duration isn't limited to a fixed number of days, so if you want to do a 36 hour fast or 40 day fast, you are free to do so.
