In rural areas, it has become essential to have transportation, whether public or private, to be able to have access to all those services that we consider basic (health, administration, education, commerce...), as well as to have access to a job, which are generally concentrated in the municipal capitals.
But at the same time, one of the main drawbacks that towns in rural areas present is the problem of mobility, both between towns in the territory and between towns and provincial capitals (which are sometimes essential to go to). certain issues that cannot be solved in the region), and the public transport lines provide such limited services that they barely cover the needs that exist or the circumstances of the families (elderly people, families with limited resources, the lack of driving license...) make mobility difficult.
The regions of Las Merindades and Montaña Palentina are not exempt from this difficulty, where five or six localities of more than 380 and 200 respectively, concentrate practically all of these services and more than 70% of non-agrarian employment. A difficulty that is especially suffered by older people and young people without their own vehicle, but which is extendable to the entire population and which represents a demand and investment that does not occur in urban environments.
Starting from the objective of improving the quality of life of the people who make up our regions by facilitating their access to different services and together with the promotion of sustainable and ecological mobility, the fact of being able to share a car is a very good solution. For this reason, it seems essential to us to have a tool of this type, which makes it possible to the point of putting needs and wills in contact.
This application would make it possible to connect people with a need for transportation within rural territories, with those who frequently travel there and are committed to making their trips more sustainable and social. As well as with those people who travel outside the territory to carry out procedures or other activities.
