বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে ধারাবাহিক নাটকগুলোর মধ্যে অন্যতম এবং আলোচিত মোস্তফা সরয়ার ফারুকীর ‘৪২০’। নাটকটি বেশ আলোচিত হয়। এই নাটকের মাধ্যমে ফারুকী ছোট পরিসরে বাংলদেশের রাজনীতিকদের উত্থান পতনের স্বরূপ উন্মোচনের চেষ্টা করেছেন এবং যথেষ্ট হাস্যরসের মাধ্যমে তিনি সফল হন।


এক সময়ের জনপ্রিয় ধারাবাহিক নাটক মোস্তফা সরয়ার ফারুকীর ‘৪২০’। এই নাটকের মাধ্যমে তিনি ছোট পরিসরে বাংলদেশের রাজনীতিকদের উত্থান-পতনের স্বরূপ উন্মোচনের চেষ্টা করেছেন এবং হাস্যরসের মাধ্যমে নাটকের গল্প এগিয়ে নিয়েছেন। ‘৪২০’ নাটকের গল্পে দেখা যায়, দুই ভাইকে, যারা গ্রামে চুরি করতো। বিভিন্ন সময় তারা সাজাও পেয়েছে। শেষবার তাদেরকে গন ধোলাই দিয়ে গ্রাম থেকে বের করে দেওয়ার কথা বলেন গ্রামের চ্যারমেন । এর পর তারা মসজিদের ইমামের আয়ত্তে থাকা খাওয়া এবং কাজ করার প্রতিজ্ঞায় সেই বার রক্কাহ পায় । এক সময় দু’জন মসজিদের দান বাক্স চুরি করে ঢাকায় চলে আসে বেশি টাকা-পয়সা স্বর্ণ-অলঙ্কার অর্জনের আশায় । রাজধানীতে এসে ঘটনাক্রমে জড়িয়ে যায় রাজনীতিতে। বদলে যায় তাদের ভাগ্য। শেষ পরিণতিও তাদের ভাগ্যকে বদলে দেয়। মোস্তফা সরয়ার ফারুকী নির্মিত এ নাটকে অভিনয় করেছেন মোশাররফ করিম, নুসরাত ইমরোজ তিশা, লুত্ফর রহমান জর্জ, মারজুক রাসেল, সোহেল খান, রিফাত চৌধুরী, কচি খন্দকার, রাশেদা চৌধুরী, সিদ্দিকুর রহমান, প্রমুখ।
