Colatina is a Brazilian municipality in the interior of the state of Espírito Santo, Southeast Region of the country. Its estimated population in 2018 was 121 580 inhabitants, being thus the eighth most populous municipality of the state.

It is one of the main cities of the interior of the state of Espírito Santo and its influence also encompasses municipalities of the east of Minas Gerais.

As a result of its diversified economy, with a good balance between the three productive sectors - primary, secondary and tertiary, as well as the presence of a considerable educational park and satisfactory services in basic and advanced health care, the city ranks 5th in the ranking of the state's highest HDIs, with an index corresponding to 0.746, which is considered high for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Among the 5,565 Brazilian municipalities, Colatina occupies the 628th in relation to the same item.
