Song Joong-ki is an actor, model, and presenter from South Korea. He rose to fame starring in the historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010) and the variety show Running Man as one of the initial cast members when it started in 2010. Song Joong-ki is also noted for his role in the drama The Innocent Man as the lead in 2012 and in the film A Werewolf Boy (2012).

On July 5, 2017, Song Joong-ki and his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye-kyo announced through their respective agencies that they were engaged. They married in a private ceremony on 31 October 2017 at Youngbingwan, Shilla Hotel in Seoul, amidst huge media interest across Asia.

The ceremony was attended by the couple's family and closest relatives, including actors Lee Kwang-soo, Yoo Ah-in, and Park Bo-gum who also played the piano at the wedding reception.
